I graduated from Nottingham University in 1997 and completed my General Practice Training in Leicestershire in 2003.
I subsequently spent 13 months in rural British Columbia. Work in Canada was extremely varied, often requiring me to travel between sites by helicopter or ferry.
During the 15 months immediately prior to my appointment at Bennfield Surgery in July 2006, I worked at Loughborough Walk-in Centre. Here I supported emergency nurse practitioners in the care of patients with both illnesses and injuries.
Like Dr Doherty, I am now a 'trainer' within the practice helping doctors to complete their general medical services training with the general practice setting.
In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, walking and wildlife.
